Blueberries have been shown to help lower
fasting glucose levels. Very "diabetic friendly."
This is true of most berries rich in anthyocyanins (think black currants / black and red mulberry).
A tea made from the blueberry leaves is particularly useful, and your
group would be able to make good use of not only the fruits but other
parts of the plant.
