I actually did my doctoral research investigating, among other things, the effect of mycorrhizal inoculation on blueberries, then went on to look at mycorrhiza on apples. Briefly, what I found is that under field and nonsterile conditions, mycorrhizal infection is ubiquitous and the effect of deliberate inoculation is inconsequential. Sometimes it's even hard to prevent infection even with sterile soil under greenhouse conditions. Other research, however, has occasionally shown benefit of inoculations to young plants before they are field-planted. (See, for example, work by Dr. Doud, with the USDA). At any rate, I don't imagine that mycorrhiza would have a specific effect on grafts beyond their effect on plant growth.
