Raisins are an inefficient way to use grapes as the drying ratio is over 9 to 1. That means you get three pounds of raisins, at best, from one productive vine. The best American grape for raisins is Interlaken. Reliance will make fairly good raisins, but they need to be dried slowly to keep any flavor, and the raisins are rather thin as the berries aren't really meaty. I prefer to stem the grapes and freeze them whole. It's a lot less work and you get more fruit.
