Title: Message
The alba roses tend to be very healthy.  I don't believe I've ever seen blackspot or mildew on my Koenigen von Daenemark.  It's very fragrant but blooms only once a year.  -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn.

Any recommendations for own root, old roses w/fragrance & disease resistance (mid-atlantic)?

Am presently considering for next year:
Louise Odier, Belle de crecy, marie pavie, marchesea boccella, felicite parmentier, rosa moschata, rosa primula, reine des violettes, great maidens blush.  Would souvenir de la malmaison be blackspot resistant?

Thanks!  That sounds like what I have.  That's not worth keeping, so
I'll dig it out when I get around to it.

I prefer own-rooted roses, to, and that's what I buy, but this one
was a gift, and I planted it late enough in the year that rooting a
cutting wouldn't have been an option even if I'd thought of it.
