Hans, I would like to add something to this debate.
A few year ago, an uncle came to visit friends of mine who arrived from
Tchecoslovaquia about twenty years ago. The uncle brought grafting material
of a plant which he described as a Blue Mountain Ash. I acquired a few
sticks which I grafted onto hawthorn. The trees are not growing very fast (3
years) but are healthy looking. Maybe, it is this Cerny Jerab.
With all this commotion, though, I forgot what was the original purpose of
the discussion.
Let's keep on track here and remember that diversity is a blessing, even
though it is harder to manage than uniformity.
It goes for people too.
