I second the motion for Chestnut crabapple. If it's the one I'm thinking
of, it's at the Secrest Arboretum in Wooster, OH, as part of the crabapple
evaluation orchards. Great sweet-tart balance. I went back for seconds and
thirds of this one a few Septembers ago. The fruit was walnut or golf-ball
sized, great flavor, and the tree appeared to have some disease resistance.
