Parafilm is a thermoplastic film, very easy to work with, self-sealing to itself, photodegrading, and thin enough, when stretched(3-4 times its original dimensions) that enlarging buds and shoots push right out through it - even multiple layers.
The manufacturer has come out with a Parafilm Grafting Tape, but I've never used it, as I'm quite comfortable with the good ol' Parafilm M - and I have ready access to it. I think there may be some other NAFEX folks who've used the Grafting Tape formulation - perhaps they'll weigh in with their experiences.
