Should we be cutting the bark on our hybrid plum trees to stimulate them to
carry more fruit? In a very early Pomona [e.g. 1971] a professor was quoted
saying poor bearing in plums was due to inadequate nitrogen in the flower
stem,
maybe cutting the bar would ensure more nutrition in the upper part. Sounds
like its worth a try. Is that when to do it, June?
