Root crops provide starches and calories, vitamins and minerals, as
I understand apples have fiber and a little vitamin C; not sure you
can get an apple to provide the nutrition, although it might be a good
diet food. Perhaps someone knows more about the nutritional contents
of apples than I do (I rely on an book "Gardening for Maximum
Nutrition")
