As far as I know, Mohler is not available from any nursery -- yet. I received scionwood from someone named Mohler in Pennsylvania a number of years ago and made my own tree. I'm not one-hundred percent sure, but I believe that it needs to be pollinated to fruit.

Interesting Web site. Again, where does one find the Mohler?

I am growing the Mohler, which ripens at least a month before Meader
and is honey sweet without any astringency. Starts ripening the end of
August here in Zone 5.

Is this due to lack of heating days? Am I growing the rootstock?

Persimmon like heat. I'd say zone 4 a has two strikes against it. 1.
Too short a growing season and 2. summers too cool.

One of the very earliest persimmon is Juhl. Another very early one is
from the Claypool breeding work, H-118. Meader is mid to late here in
the Midwest and I doubt very much if your season is long enough there.
No experience with NC-10 here.

I have no indication either are parthenocarpic so recommend you
should also get a male.
