Hi,

I would just put them in a plastic bag with slightly damp peat moss in the
refrigerator, and watch for dormancy
to break naturally. When you see a 1/4" root, pot them up in standard medium.

If you time it properly, they can go outside into the garden.

The "Grafter's Handbook" has a whole chapter on seed starting. I think they
reccomend that apple seeds be
placed in very hot water for 10 seconds prior to cold storage. Whether this
just sterilizes the seed coat,
helps break down hormones within the seed that keep it dormant, or does
something else, I do not recall.
