When I had pear and apple trees re-bloom, occasionally 100 blossoms on a
pear tree, other gardeners around did not think it was highly unusual,
pointing out that forsythia, deutzia, willow, and flowering cherry will
occasionally pop a few flowers in the Fall.
Are these out-of-season blossoms delayed flowers from the previous Spring,
or premature members of next Spring's cohort?
