Odd thing happened to me this weekend.
I was laying out bales of hay straw in my front yard
that a had by the side of the road for the city to
pick-up. I suddenly noticed the one I was holding had
an ant nest in it and I was covered with ants! I
"danced" behind a tree and striped down to shake them
all off. I was very luck in that they were not fire
ants. I was bit and stung a number of times, but they
itch like 'skeeter' bites than burn. This is my first
close encounter with a nest of ants.
If this happens again (with fire ants), I want to know
what to do to minimize the damage and pain.
Any suggestions?
