Title: Re: [NAFEX] Note on an invasive plant
First, thanks to Lon; I had understood that the
idea of stooling was to get the roots to put up new sprouts, not to get sprouts
from the initial stump.
Second, I am of the more organic persuasion, and
the idea of Round-Up does indeed make me cringe, or worse. If I ever did
concider using round-up, the idea of injecting it directly into the problem
plant is the best one I have heard.
The suggestion of pigs in a pen in the yard has
merit, but I have some concern about tne foundation of my house. It is fairly
solid, but pigs can be very destructive, at times. Also, I'm a bit squeemish
about having the pigs living, rooting, and especially defecating around the
wellhouse that provides our drinking water. It seems rather unsanitary, though I
know the local wildlife has access to the area.
Thanks to all who responded,
Joyce
