Hello,

My in-laws do cider and they have an inexpensive way to handle the apples.
You will need 1 or 2,
plastic 5 gallon pails and a supply of large sacks. You pick/pickup the
apples into the pails
and gently pour them into the sacks. I believe that the sacks he uses hold
1.5 to 2 bushels.
Tie the top of the sack, load the truck and head off to the cider mill.

He has done it this way for over 50 years.

At the cider mill you will see any number of good ways of transporting the
apples.

Some people just load directly into a box trailer and unload from there.
Sacks are easier to
unload and are lighter than boxes or baskets.
