Hi, Randy. I'm originally from western Kansas (Ellis County), but have
lived in your home state for more than 20 years. If you've not already done
so, go to http://search.oznet.ksu.edu:81/pubs and get all the info there
about fruit growing from the Kansas State University Cooperative Extension
Service. If there's no info available about fireblight-resistant
rootstocks, call the state fruit specialist who should be able to give you
some recommendations about what they've found is a good, reliable rootstock
for your soil conditions.

The University of Missouri-Columbia would also have a number of excellent
publications on fruit growing.--Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn.
