Harry & David's Bear Creek Orchards in Medford, Oregon is a BIG outfit and
they are the only ones I've ever heard of with a Fruit of the Month club.
The fruits are extra-choice grades of more or less standard fruits, though.
Their "Royal Riviera" pears are essentially a special grade of the old
Comice pears. An excellent pear, but I'd rather go to a local grower and
pay a LOT less for them.
It WOULD be nice to be able to try exotics, but the reason so many ARE
exotic is because they don't take shipping, which makes it pretty hard to
send them out each month.
