I recently attended a great grafting workshop by Bob Purvis. One point I
remember was to be sure your scion wood is isolated from ethylene producing
fruit, if you store them in the fridge. I had the impression that the
ethelyne would make them break dormancy prematurely (rather then inhibit
it). Does this all mean that ethylene exterior to a branch has the
opposite to ethylene that is interior ? Or could it be that the danger of
ethylene on scionwood is suppression of the buds - thus a poorer success
rate in grafting?

Secondly, does this mean it might be imporant to cut off the tips of all
scionwood before storing? Interesting stuff, Del Z2/3
