As to parking or loading and unloading, that is what traffic control is for. If we can shut down major roads to provide a work area in the East with heavy traffic it should be a breeze in the West.

Shutting down a major road for hours or days is an option in more populated areas, because there are alternative nearby routes for traffic. You need to consider that in larger wilderness areas, that road may be the only access for many, many miles or may even be the only public vehicle access into that region.  A road might be partially blocked with a single lane of traffic controlled from both directions, but since you can’t predict how long a search might run, or how many resources (and related space) might be needed over the next few days, often the CP, staging, etc., is established off the road.

Commonly in more remote areas the resources arrive with an expectation for staying minimum 24 hours, perhaps up to 72 self-sustaining, and part of the logistics is to plan for adequate vehicle parking, quiet sleep areas, meals area, etc., and adjust as the needs expand.  The location may also require portable bathroom facilities and water source. If the location is remote enough, cook trailer and protected food storage space may also be needed. Alternately the initial smaller location is considered temporary and is relocated as needed to accommodate an influx of more resources.
