Ellie,
Here are the Arizona teams that as of April 2008 were New Mexico
SAR resources. Getting on that resource list indicates a certain
level of competence and purpose.
Southern Arizona Rescue Association
Ground / Technical / Cave / Mine
PO Box 12892
Tuscon, AZ 85732
http://www.sarci.org/SARA.htm
Apache Rescue Team
Ground / Technical (low) / K9 / Vehicle
PO Box 107
Nutrioso, AZ 85932
Navajo County Sheriff's Search and Rescue
K9
14193 E Lotsa View Ln
Dewey, AZ 86327
Tucson is "not that far" from some really good New Mexico SAR
teams in the bootheel and Gila areas. The New Mexico border is
about half as far from Tucson as Flagstaff, on an interstate
highway. (I hope to get to Tucson in the next year or so; the
orienteering club there is very active.)
