Riding pants are very specific to the individual for preference and comfort. What works well for one may not work for another.

If you prefer the jeans style for riding, Wrangler has 100% polyester stretch denim WRancher jeans. Wrangler and Levi both have cotton-polyester jeans, and there are other manufacturers (including Roper) who also advertise “stretch” jeans that are not 100% cotton. Google polyester jeans and stretch jeans to find options.

5.11 Tactical pants, designed primarily for law enforcement, aren’t cut quite as baggy as the military BDU but have the useful numerous cargo pockets. Folks who don’t like the baggier BDU for riding, but like all the pockets, might find this works for them. Most are polyester cotton, some are rip-stop.

Especially those of you who ride in rough terrain, and in serious winter, what type of pant does your unit wear? Most BDUs are too baggy to be comfortable riding for long distances or in rough brush. English style riding tights rip too easy and don't insulate enough in winter by themselves. Jeans don't make the cut for non-cotton clothing although they are comfy for riding and wear well in brush. Figured I'd get the community response and see how others have solved this problem.
