Last year they were the worst I’ve seen them since they showed up here about 5 years ago.  Wiped out a big rose bush; their second favorite was raspberries, but didn’t do much damage.  They love grape vines, too.  Took to the basil and green beans when they began to mature.  I just brush them off into a tub of soapy water—it takes time.  They say not to squish them as the pheromones that are released when you do attracts others.

Hi, nice to see this group pop-up again.

I'm farming a new parcel of land in Maryland and I know they have had issues with Japanese Beetles in the past. Today as I was moving trays in the greenhouse, and I noticed what I believe to be a Japanese Beetle grub which reminded me that I need to be prepared to deal with them.

What are peoples experience with Japanese Beetles? What are their favorite foods? Do they have any natural predators?

Thanks in advance for the help,

Andrea
