Talking of the speed of those tractors, I just found an old message from 2005 stating the farmall A and IH 140 were a bit too high geared. How fast do these go in thé lowest gear at part throttle?

I'm not sure about a "special low gear" but 1.6 sounds about right. They have 3 gears plus reverse. When properly tuned they can creep along, but just not as slow as I want for some crops, though it hasnt been too much of a problem.
It was mentioned they are good for "light cultivation". I'm not sure what that means. I cultivate all my crops with the G's, though not exclusively. I find Gs (or other belly mounted cultivators) to be essential for precision weeding. For crops such as potatoes I use a lilliston rolling cultivator primarily because the lilliston fits on a 3 point hitch which is not on the G.

Aaron,
I assume your G's have the "Special Low" gear that does 1.6 mph,
since it was in the first year's tractors?
