We all have large areas in which we're ignorant. How is anyone to learn, if they can't first admit that they don't know something? Go ahead and ask.

and while you (Richard) didn't say anything about stupid questions, you did call the person who posted the original question "clueless" . I agree that it's a good idea to ask the questions before applying amendments, rather than after; but I think you made that point a whole lot better in your post today than in your earlier post. 

(And, the original poster may have asked all sorts of other questions before applying the lime, and may have made the application based on good advice.)
