Roger that on CLA's and favorable omega ratios from wild and grass fed.
Have you ever really seen golden butter? Get some from a Jersey or Guernsey on spring time grass and you will be amazed. And start planting 'weeds' in your meadows, like dandelions, chicory, yarrow, parsley.......

Don't forget, too, that animal products (meat, milk, and eggs) from
livestock raised on pasture also have significant levels of omega-3s, and a
very favourable omega-3 to omega-6 ratio. Check out www.eatwild.com for more
information. If we raised animals the way they have evolved to be fed,
they'd be healthier, we'd be healthier, and the plant would be healthier (on
account of the carbon sequestered on perennial forages vs. annual row
crops). Sorry, but in my personal opinion, the last thing the world needs right now
is Monsanto creating another problem in a misguided attempt to create a
solution to a problem that doesn't actually exist. (Though I'll probably
still order Big Beef tomato seeds this week...)
Go figure,

Mike,
Exactly what I was talking about, the subtle details we miss without
exchange. We all know some things and we all become more knowledgeable in
the process.

Don't forget Flax seed and walnuts as omega 3 sources.

Kurt,
You said it in the first line. "This listserv is to educate and/or provide
information to other growers/interested individuals". Sometimes a little
debate is needed to bring out subtle points that can be important. I am
totally against Monsanto reigning over us, but they do some things
very few) right. Take for instance the new GM soybean coming out by them. This
It will produce Omega-3 fatty acids in the plant kingdom (a first I
believe). If anyone thinks that is a bad thing, they a either very
misinformed or have no idea about the nutritional needs of the planet.
plant could supply the needed Omega-3 acids in the human diet and alsohelp
save the aquaculture of the planet from the constant drain on our naturalEducation
resources by overfishing (we are probably causing extinctions in the sea
also but we just can't see them). All the fish in the world, it is
projected, will not be able to provide the needs of the human race for
Omega-3's in a few short years. So bad Monsanto, good Monsanto.
above all else if we want to save the planet. Besides if everyone totallyCornell
agreed with all the posts, we probably wouldn't get very good interaction
(not many would reply to the posts).

This listserv is to educate and/or provide information to other
growers/interested individuals, as I understand it. To debate whether or
not one should use genetically engineered or a particular seed company's
seeds, perhaps ought to be kept offline. But if someone wants to know who
offers what, I think that information should be available to interested
individuals.
Johnny's sent me a list that looks very much like the one posted earlier.
The first one they sent me was missing some varieties, which they later
corrected. Red Zeppelin is a Seminis (Monsanto) variety, as well as
Bush Delicata. Thanks for letting us know about the usefulness ofJohnny's
Delicata and Table Queen squash, Rivka.
