Some loose thoughts on this deal:
A 4 foot by 4 foot container could be burried in
the ground, and dumped full of
carrots or potatoes through a 1 foot by 2 foot
opening; how will you get them out?
(Grabbing a small boy by the feet and lowering him
down being beyond the
understanding of several modern government
agencies?)
That container will have to be placed above all
possible chance of flooding, at
many places here at 45 north it would have to be
above ground and burried
in available mulching/insulation.
To me "modern day" would be above ground,
controlled climate and atmosphere.
I would be hunting for the old timers who can tell
me about the Carolinas before
WW II .
