There are a bunch of devices sold to attach poly to
pipe/tube for roll ups. For the quick and cheap get some pvc or black plastic
pipe and cut chunks length wise in half. Keeping your roll tube and plastic as
straight as possible place a section of half pipe on top of the poly and attach
with self drill scrers.
A 6 inch clip every 4 feet should be enough,if you
can arrange for the poly to have a few extra turns around the roll tube is best
but not usual. On hort houses we used a skirt along the lower part of the
greenhouse side (+- 30" high) to act as a seal when the side vent is closed, and
as a barrier for wind blowing in on the plants in the lower part of the house.
For livestock houses the skirt was more optional but on cool breezy days the
floor temp difference was striking.
(Install rant here about not being on a yahoo type
list where there would be file and photo features)
If you dont mind risking hands, wrists, and jaw
bones attach a tee to the end of the roll tube, slide a 2 - 3 foot piece of
steel rod through the tee making a handle for rolling the tube, when it is as
high as you want it slide a long chunk of pipr over the rod and let the other
end rest on the ground preventing
unrolling.
If you are awash in case get a gearbox and guide
tubes for safely rolling the poly side.
