I sell at the same market as Kim and Garth but in that "backyard growers corner" with other folks just starting out. I heard mention of this 3 weeks ago. I asked one of the bosses if we little growers could affiliate legally and split the cost. He said "It might work". Producers marketing co-op? I'd love to include Kim and Garth as I owe them favors. Will some insurance company go for it? How much of a burden will the paperwork of "becoming a formal entity" be? $300 if we do much of the work ourselves?

How can we be inclusive to take this barrier down for the new people? Two new vendors in the backyard growers area last Sat. Both were testing the market for larger scale growing.

Greetings,

I just got off the phone with our market manager, an expensive
conversation. Apparently, the insurance company that underwrites the
market informed the market that they would not longer cover the market
unless all vendors have product insurance of 1,000,000. Are any other
markets experienceing this?

They have found an agent that has the coverage for $350/ year and it
covers all markets you do. Is this a good price?

We have a backyard growers corner in our market, the $350 a year will
knock that out. The manager and I are wondering if there are any
blanket policies to be had, that will cover a group of growers for a
reduced cost per grower. Do any markets have such a thing?

The good news is another beautiful ewe lamb arrived this AM.
