I'll throw in two other things.
In order to boost the pressure on my long line (1in black poly- low pressure at the tap and too low to run anything at the other end), I'm adding a 12volt on-demand pump (I had never heard of them before, but they're used in RVs a lot- they have an internal pressure switch).
I tripped across a solar panel sale at Northern Tools and will use that to charge up the battery.

Joe, I'm using 1" black poly pipe to run about that distance or maybe a little less, uphill, and I'm really happy with the flow and pressure. The black poly is pretty cheap. the only downside is that it will need to be buried across the driveways. I've found that a single point cultivator shank, or a subsoiler, will dig a perfect trench for a seasonal water line (about 10"), and you can pull the pipe into the trench by wiring the pipe to the shank, and then feeding it into the ground as you drive down the trench. Good luck.Curtis and Sarah Millsap
