I'm pretty sure the 4 year 6ml poly gives a 92% light transmission.

The price is quite a bit more than poly, even when using a double
layer of poly.  I too was thinking it looks like it would be
significantly easier to set-up, especially with limited help.
I was thinking that I could use it starting four or five feet up from
the base.  Allowing me to also screw in a channel for poly sides that
I could roll up.  At least this was a plan I had in theory.
The low level of light transmission was the biggest down side I
noticed as well.  Then I got to thinking that if single layer poly has
around 80% light transmission (at least from what I've read) and you
have two layers inflated, is 70-75% that bad?  I'm thinking that a
double layer of poly with air will diffuse some light, ending up with
around the same percentage of usable light.  Is my logic off?
The reason that I am considering it is the poly on it finally shredded
in the wind (with nothing planted in it yet atleast) and it was over 8
years old and going strong!  This winter I got paranoid and shoveled
around it for one of the first times ever.  Who knows my paranoid
actions could have caused it's demise : ).

Anyway, gratefully appreciate all your thoughts,

Ben
