A nearby grower deliberately sets up his tomato hoop frame going up an incline.  Top end of the hoop frame is perhaps 10' in elevation above the bottom end.  On hot clear days, he just opens up each end and it not only keeps the interior from getting hot but the fresh moving air really helps with pest and disease control.  On the hottest days he says standing on that high end is like standing behind a jet engine, but his tomatoes are sure happy.  He relies on that incline to help his irrigation efforts too, with his water supply in a big tank at the top of the house, gravity-fed to the plants stepping down the slope.  Seems to work really well because he keeps setting it up that way every year.

After the daily temp's get over 80, we pull a shade cloth over our buildings that we have thing growing in.  I also have some really big fans I can set by the doors to pull out the heat on the really hot days.
