Now remember I did not say I was, or that I have , or that I will be planting it. I just want information, not a tirade, I want information, so as to make an intelligent decision, on what to plant, and how to control my earworm problem.

I think GMO sweet corn is bad because if folks want to grow non GMO sweet corn this GMO sweet corn can make the organic sweet corn GMO.  this is bad for all folks that want to eat organic or non GMO sweet corn because you can plant organic corn seed or non gmo sweet corn and this guy will turn your organic sweet corn into a GMO.
these folks will contaminate the whole earth and there will not be anything but GMOs .  the gmo is in the whole corn . u can plant organic corn and the corn will turn GMO because of cross pollination.  oh well good luck to all organic sweet corn growers because of farmer that don't care.  I'm am so sorry to hear this.  I remember when they planted a GMO corn not for humans but it got into the human food chain and it was hard to clean up and other countries would not buy our corn because of this contamination.  it was mixed with good corn and the  box cars were contaminated and the storage was contaminated and it was a nightmare.  people don't seem to understand how bad GMOs are to natural food growers.  it will take natural sweet organic corn down wind to a GMO abomination.  IMHO I hate that they can destroy those that don't want to partake in this experiment where they can take genes from anywhere and mix up life on earth as we know it and they cannot control it and it will contaminate us that don't want it and have planted organic seed.  it will take that organic corn and make the corn we eat GMO even though we went to all the trouble to be organic.  what  a rip off.  these farmers that pollute our streams , water table, air and crops now can destroy our seed .  the beginning of life .  the seed.  how are you going to stop the wind.  what a bummer.  not only will they be giving their customers GMO corn but they will be contaminating every one the wind blows their abomination on.  sure I'm mad .  so much greed its one of mans inhumanity to man.  why don't u label it GMO sweet corn ?????.  I know why .

Personally, I think it always has to be the farmers' decision whether or not to grow a GMO crop. I would not want to eat it - but that is MY decision.  However, I do think that when you sell it to the consumer, you need to label it as BT corn and be ready to explain what that means in layman's terms.  I have seen farmers who label it as "unsprayed", which it probably is, but which the consumer translates as "organic", which it emphatically is not.  As long as the consumer is informed that it is a genetically modified corn, which it why it has no worms, they can decide whether or not to buy it.  Otherwise, I think it is mis-leading your customer.

Ive asked about bt sweet corn on other sites and was crucified, but not many of them were realy growing for thier livlihood. But you all seem to be more open minded. I love to grow sweet corn, its always a good seller, but its a constant battle with ear worms. Todays customer will not tolerate anything like that, If you cut the ends off and that end browns they wont buy that either. What is you alls opinion on bt corn.

Also how well does it keep before going starchy. I need a corn that will keep its eating quality for at least a day or two.

thanks :
