Lots of people use geofabric as a base coat. This keeps the rock from going
on down, and stabilizes the surface, keeping it
flat.............................................some good

Make sure any area you use for parking or drive vehicles on is well elevated
and drains to an acceptable location.? If you can get pit run gravel, buy
crushed rock if they have a crusher.? Round rock just oozes down into wet
soil where the crushed gravel will lock in and not move down into the soil.
1" crushed would be a good choice to top dress your road or lot.? Your
gravel people should be very helpful in explaining this.? Crusher fines are
a great top coat for a really hard surface that packs well.? It will wash if
you have too much rain, use with larger rock to hold it.

Soil type: clayey topsoil over heavy clay subsoil over impermeable hardpan.
OK its not quite that bad, but I intend to do all container berries in
hightunnels.? Cheaper than fighting the soil.? Its a clay loam to plow depth
with mod organic matter.? It is the field closest to the barn so has been
manured regularly. it does grow fair crops for this far north in areas that
surface drain.? .
