I realized I left the question mark, sorry.  How does broccoli fair with snow on it?  The temperatures are 32-35.  Will it be ok?  or will the heads start to lose their quality?  It is suppose to warm up into the 50's by Wednesday.

Broccoli is much better eating after freezing weather, we enjoy ours most through late

November, solid freeze and snow not a factor.

The problem comes with the standing water that does not get dried up during that season

causing rot and discoloration. A frequent dose of fungacide helps but I dont like going there.

We got 3 inches of the wettest snow ever. It is suppose to be snowing all day long.  Since I could not be home to sweep of the buildings today, I decided to end my season extension and pull the plastic to the side and tie it up.  It wasn't pretty, but, it saves my  plastic and the structures.  Oh, yea I made this decision at 2:30 in the morning. At 4:00, I was in dry clothes by the wood stove.

I wish someone would write a definition, we could all agree on, of all these hoops, tunnels,

greenhouses, cold frames, and tarp barns. I sold and built those things for years and keep

finding that I  did not know what I was doing. Did you know that the Haygrove owners I have

met plan on pulling the poly for late spring snows and also putting it back on a few to

several  times a year after winds take it off.

Whats better than ice water draining down the coat sleve and dripping out the elbows.
