We grow beautiful and best-I-ever-tasted broccoli and cauliflower in tropical Dominica -- just have to avoid too much rain and choose varieties that don't insist on cool growing.  I think heads may be a bit smaller and the cauliflower sometimes gets pinkish, but still delicious.  Broccoli especially is an iffy crop here because of the rain, but worth the risk as even conventional sells for $8-$18 per pound (EC $.  $1 US = $2.7 EC).   We average about $10-12/lb. growing in drier season.

Best wishes,

Karen

WOW, I was way late in comparison to you. I guess I was under the impression that those crops wouldn't do as well in the heat of the summer.  I thought they would just wilt and die since they were "cool" season crops.

Thanks for the info, more things to remember for next year.
