No problem with them falling apart as long as good root system. All the
potting soil is going with the roots anyway. I am using the 2"+- blocks in a
2" transplanter. I have wondered if a 2 1/2" planter might not work better
to prevent some hangups in the chute. As long as there is plenty of foliage
they should remain upright.

Farmer Breck mentioned using the Hatfield transplanter with soil
blocks. We raise all of our transplants in soil blocks and I have
been tempted to buy a Hatfield but I have feared that the blocks are
not held together well enough and they will crumble when they hit the
ground. Has this been a problem, Farmer B? What size blocks and
Hatfield are you using?

Thanks.
