Toluca Lake is about 20 minutes from THE Farmer's Market in Los Angeles.  It is one of the largest permanent farmers' markets in the U.S.:

Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm
Your customer's daughter also can find farmers markets in L.A. County at:

Our problem of finding good-tasting produce is universal -- everywhere I've visited or lived in the U.S. has the large grocery stores that sell what your customer's daughter is talking about.  Thank God for all you growers and the farmers' markets.

Hi --

I had a question from a market customer this week that I couldn't
answer, but maybe somebody on this list can. The customer has a
daughter in Toluca Lake, California (near LA I think) who says she
can't find produce that tastes like anything. Anybody know of a genuine
local market in that area, or farm stands with good local produce, or
maybe a CSA?

I did refer them to Local Harvest.

Thanks --
