I, too, have been reading this thread with interest.

I thought we/they WERE talking about wiring a new themostat to control
the compressor only. One wants to leave the fan running not only to
give the probe a representative temperature, but to also help clear up
icing without human intervention.

I have walkin refrigeration trouble about once a year. Or maybe once in
two years. It's always a stressful situation; finding and getting a
refrigeration guy out promptly when I have a cooler full of product
getting warm. It happened last only about three weeks ago. I'm
thinking of installing some window ACs as backups.
