Most hand tools have a wood handle that is kept in place by a
retaining rivet that should be visible from the back of the tool. By
removing the rivet the wood handle can be easily removed. If you have
removed the handle past this rivet then you may want to try inserting a long
wood screw into the broken stub and then clamp the head of the screw tightly
into a vice. Use a mallet to hit the head of the fork away from the vice
and screw.
Hope this works for you.
