We only got about 4 inches of snow. It was actually really cool when it started .....it was about 3am and it started to thunder and lightning pretty violently. Then the sleet started, followed by about 15 minutes of pea sized hail (the kind I never mind seeing), then it quieted down into a beautiful soft snow while still thundering and lightning! I think we dodged the bullet. I am not sure how my peas fared yet. The asparagus was under about 8"of straw mulch. The greenhouse (solar)is full of starters but the lowest the temps got in there was 36 degrees and the sensitive stuff is on germination mats. The black 55 gallon drums did their job. Today will be 65 degrees so I will be attempting once again to get the onions out. This is going to be a huge job, these are the days I wish I had a transplanter!

Shelly when I heard that Miles SD got 52" of snow last week I was rally feeling for you.  It was supposed to get really cold last night but it stayed cloudy all night so we lucked out this time around.  I Have Sweet corn and most row crops are up a bunch so it would have been just like last year.
