Willie

Almost all asparagus plantings grown in Illinois are either old plantings of the Mary or Martha Washingtons or are one of the Jersey varieties. The Jersey varieties have been planted here since they were released in the late 80's and have performed well. About as easy a crop to grow as any.

I've been doing asparagus now for 10-15 years. In the past couple of
years, it has become more attractive price and demand wise. So, I'm
thinking of planting more. I have now UC157 and Purple Passion, all of
which I grew from seed.
I've been looking at:
http://www.jerseyasparagus.com
and am thinking of trying to get some crowns of Jersey Knight or Jersey
King (advertised to be "warm" climate varieties) in this season.

I seek advice, comments, and non-spamming sources.
