Kelly:

In a quick, online search, I found something called BioBags, sold via

http://composters.com/docs/acc.html

They're made of cornstarch-derived biopolymers; 600 2-gallon bags sell for $79.50, 300 3-gallon bags for $59.50.

Might something like this work?

Hi All,

Our farm runs a Community Composting program via our CSA whereby our CSA
members save their organic fruit and veggie scraps and then we collect them,
compost them, and return them to our farm soil. In the past we have
provided our CSA members with "Food Cycler" paper compost bags (about the
size of a paper lunch bag) for the purpose of collecting their scraps.
These bags are specially formulated so that the entire bag can be added to
the compost pile and it, and the food scraps, break down in 4-6 weeks.
These bags have been AWESOME...their clean, neat and actually breakdown in
the timeframe indicated. We've had good success with this program - it
provides us with a minimal amount of additional compost, but more
importantly it gets our members involved in the cycle of food.

Now on to my question. I'm having a hard time finding a source for these
"Food Cycler" bags. My original source said the manufacturer has stopped
producing them. Does anyone out there know where I could purchase the "Food
Cycler" bags or something equivalent?

Thanks for your help,

Kelly
