If you are really concerned with metal pipes and would like to
experiment with a low cost alternative. I know of a group of people that
have already experimented with plastic pipe with good results. Less
chance of lightning strike.

metal pipe high tunnelsGood point Paul. I'd be tempted to put a
lightning
rod on each end. Then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Hi all,
I am currently setting up a nice big high tunnel. I positioned this
thing
on top of a knoll that I leveled out. From the degree of my sunburn
yesterday, I know that it will get good sun exposure on top of this
knoll.
But now I am wondering if this thing will be a nice lightning target.
Has
anyone ever seen evidence of a lightning strike to a pipe frame
greenhouse? Paul Bock Stone Gully Home of the Glacier ball bearings
