A good idea. Or - don't laugh - put up a little sign saying
how wonderful and special their tart flavor is, and
instructing your customers to do this - (or hand out little
slips of paper with these instructions):

----------

Wash, stem, and slice the berries. Put them in a bowl,
glass jar, or plastic container (preferably with a lid).
Add a little water. Add a little confectioner's sugar.
Sprinkle with a little Grand Marnier or Chambord (optional).
Shake the berries about, or stir. Let the berries sit in
the fridge for at least an hour before serving. Ambrosia!

----------

It matters (to me, anyway) that confectioner's rather than
regular sugar be used. I just like the results much better.
I like them best with Chambord. (An expensive taste, but
you only need a few drops.) They're fine without the
liqueur too.

Cheers,
Pat
