Please let me know what you think. Shall I try to rent it, find a caretaker or just shut down for a couple of years??

Thanks,
Margaret SW Oregon

Margaret - You should have no problem in OR finding a young couple to stewart your farm while they decide when and where to buy their own. 3 years seems like about enough time for that. Just make sure that you find people who are interested in caring for land and not in people who lead with a business plan. It is VERY easy for renters to exploit a place, so you have to have people who are looking to not take more than they give. I think there are plenty of them. I t would be a shame to loose your momentum at this point. As far as the back, I've been in the same place as you and chose to work it through. I'm pretty strong now, but it took A LOT of time.

The biodynamic movement national hq (www.biodynamics.com) is in OR now. You might try to find a couple through them.
