- Subject: [Market-farming] Herbs and poor soil ??
- Date: Thu, 29 Apr 2004 13:55:10 -0400
I frequently read - about one herb or another - 'Prefers
poor soil.' Huh? How do I get poor soil?
Well, we actually have poor soil, it's heavy heavy clay.
But at the cost of great personal labor and some expense, we
have set up our garden so that all my growing beds now have
really good soil.
So now where do I plant the herbs that prefer poor soil?
Maybe I just ignore their preferences, and tell them firmly
'You may prefer poor soil, but you'll darned well live in
whatever soil I plant you in.' ??
Thanks.
Pat
