The lowest leaves of the lettuce have been turning yellow and falling off.
My red russian kale grew an inch high and then stopped -- they're now
brittle sticks.

I'm using 'Supersoil' which I've been very sucessful with in the past and
it has a little fertilizer in it to keep seedlings going for a while.
Six weeks is usually all I need before they're ready to be transplanted.
