When the subject is gardening, it's difficult not to be
envious of Californians! It was minus 26 Fahrenheit (just
temperature, *not* with wind chill) here twice last winter.
It was around minus 20 F several times, again without wind
chill.
Here (in my case) = Pennsylvania's chilly Northern Tier, in
the Appalachian Mountains.
