To stay organic, look at www.gardensalive.com. Pricey but you can learn a lot, including identity of pests and diseases. Log on to www.wbap.com Sat Am 11-12 and Sun AM 8-12 and listen live (click on listen live on upper left of screen) to Howard Garrett, the "dirt doctor". There's an 800 number to call in with questions.
Next, buy a few chickens, suggest games, RI red, araucana because they free range well and like bugs or some guinea fowl. you'll find that a lot of your bugs disappear and your birds are fat and happy.
