Dorothy, I use the black matting and it is great! I have had no problems with and yes, you can mulch over and never see it. I use it under my hoop house and it sticks out on all sides. Well, I just mulched all around the hoop house and now have extra room for plants! I like it!!

Hello, I am new to this list, as are most of us I guess. We have had an organic garden for he past 30 years. It is just a large backyard garden but it supplies more than ample produce for our family, friends, and freezing for the winter months.
I am writing to ask about using the black fabric shield which people use to control weeds. Have any of you used this? Is it conducive to a healthy garden production? Should it be covered with a mulch such as grass clippings?
Thank you for your input. Dorothy |
